I believe speaking is a three sided coin of responsibility.

On one side I have a responsibility to the person who hires me to make them look good for having the courage to put their reputation on the line for me. On the other side I have a responsibility to the audience to push, challenge, entertain, engage and spark the listeners, enticing them to the edge of something new and pushing them to have the courage to fly. Those two side are joined by the rim of the coin and on that edge lives my content, and passion for personal and professional leadership and H.U.M.A.N. Strategies™. As a result, I design my messages to be rich with content that lasts beyond the moment of the presentation, humorous, and filled with relevant, powerful & engaging story telling.

I have been cultivating my gift for more than 30 years in business, and I welcome the opportunity to explore the possibilities of working with you.”

Speaking testimonials:

“I wanted to share how much I valued your presentation at our conference.  I thought your presentation and the ideas/concepts you shared with our group were things we could all take home and start practicing immediately.  The only challenge was that there was so much good information I would be writing something down and you’d be onto another thing which I also wanted to make note of…and I missed writing down a lot of stuff I wanted to remember.  Over my many years at AAA I’ve been to many events such as this, many that were excellent, but I think your presentation built the biggest fire! Thanks again for such a ‘useable’ message.”

– Larry Hanson, Manager, AAA Oregon/Idaho, Beaverton Region

“Once again, thank you for an outstanding talk at our sales meeting. You were everything that was advertised. Randy said you would do good and he was right on target. I really appreciate how prepared you were and yet, seemed so at ease. We have not had much luck in the past so the pressure was really on. Great job. I’d like to think that this is just the beginning.”

– Greg Hall, President, Food Services of America, Seattle Region

“Steve’s presentation was outstanding – professional, informative, and detailed. We had 13 people in attendance including two deans, and an executive director of one of our campuses. The presentation was well received by all in attendance.”

– Larry Vera, Executive Director of Information Systems, College of Southern Maryland

“From the instant Steven got on stage until his last sentence, I was enthralled, captivated and totally inspired. No one in the audience, including myself, even knew that the computer had crashed and there were supposed to be slides. He picked up the ball and ran the key-note with grace and professionalism. When the slides finally came up, about 5 minutes before he finished, the audience clapped in total awe. How many keynote speakers get a wild round of applause in the MIDDLE of their speech?! Truly teaching us by example. If I were looking for a motivating and inspiring speaker for my event who could tell great stories and make life-changing points, Steven would be the first person I would call to see if he would be available. Hands down.”

– Joshua Waldman, Career Enlightenment

“Steven’s presentation to our networking group of marketing professionals was exceptional; one of the best I’ve seen in the five years I have been associated with this organization. From the moment he took the stage, Steven had the audience’s full attention, and he kept it throughout the entire presentation. While his inspirational and informative message was a universal one, he customized it to the interests of our members, and it was clear that they understood what he was saying. I know that we got but a sampling of the wisdom and insight Steven has to share and hope to have Steven back before us again soon.”

– Joe Coss, Board Member, Metropolitan Senior Network

“What an awesome business concept! Mr. Fulmer is right on queue with how I want to take my sales team to the next level!”

– George K. Chung, Sales Manager, Ron Tonkin Dodge

“I still have a hard time reconciling how our conference actually played out because it just seems so far-fetched, but attendee evaluations of Steven Fulmer were head and shoulders above the legendary Disney. He was engaging and energetic, likable and believable. His universal messages were directly applied to our industry and its challenges so every point he made felt 100% relevant. Most of all, he touched our attendees in some fundamental, humanistic way that is very difficult to describe but very powerful to feel.”

– Amanda Oborne, Executive Director, FitLife Club Network

“Steven – just a note of thanks for your outstanding presentation on the ‘Secret to Your Club’s Success’ given at the FitLife conference on July 19th.  The headliner for this conference was the Disney Institute on Quality Service.  They were good, but your presentation was clearly the highlight of the weekend.  Thanks so much for an informative, engaging, and practical session.”

– Chuck Wood, Professional Fitness Trainer, Roundup Athletic Club

“We just wrapped our annual conference in October with a dynamic schedule of speakers, receiving very positive reviews on our lunch keynote speaker, Steven Fulmer. He does an excellent job of delivering the message all while inspiring the audience. One of his best attributes is his ability to listen and ascertain what it is we want our audience to come away with. While his presentation on HUMAN Strategies is certainly the foundation of his work, he’s very versatile on the subjects of leadership and communication.”

– Lori Little, Marketing Communications Director, Oregon Lodging Association

“Thanks for a great speech today at the Engineering Employment Symposium. I came away inspired and refreshed! … My first take away was the reinforcement that I should continue to focus on refining my vision, both in terms of getting it right and being able to quickly and clearly articulate it. Of course the other insight was to apply my own prowess to my job search – to conquer it like a technical problem. While obvious in hindsight (everything is obvious in hindsight) I must admit it is something that didn’t occur to me to the extent that you noted. I’ve been looking at my job search as a foreign animal, something that I’m not good at, rather than something I can excel at in the same way I excel at engineering – by being creative.”

– Darwin Engwer, Engineering Employment Symposium

“The comments keep coming in and each one is very positive. Thanks for a great meeting, you have a wonderful gift and message that needs to be communicated throughout the country. It was a pleasure spending some time with you today.”

– Tom Hassenauer, Senior Category Manager, Food Services of America, Seattle Region

“Steve, thanks again for the awesome presentation.”

– Linda Mae, Evergreen State College

“I wish I could express how much of a difference you’ve made, but it would involve more words than you have time to read.”

– Sven Davis, University of California, Santa Cruz Extension

“We recently had the privilege of having Steven Fulmer as the keynote presenter at our annual Industry Seminar. His presentation on the Five H.U.M.A.N. Strategies was energetic and meaningful and was packed with wonderful information that anyone in any walk of life could apply to his/her relationships with others, either at work or on a personal basis. As a meeting planner, I found Steven delightful to work with. He was in contact with me on several occasions prior to the event, communicating his plans as well as discussing the audience and issues that were facing them in their jobs. He used insights that he gained in conversations with other attendees to tailor his presentation so that the audience could identify with what he was saying. We are already making plans to bring Steven back to speak to more of our members. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a lively, entertaining, content-rich presentation.”

– Kathy Buchanan, Executive Director, Washington School Nutrition Association

Coaching testimonials:

“I don’t know how you did it, but you did it.  In such short period of time you managed to recognize and sort out my problems, complete stranger.  I appreciate you for the chance to meet with you and clear some fog around me or within me.  Thank you very much for your time and willingness to help me. And you ARE the big name, now I know for sure.”

– Nadia, Portland, Oregon

“Steven has a great gift for drawing people out. He picks up on important, unspoken nuances and as a result I always come away with new insight and understanding of myself. I feel like I am discovering me in ways that continue to surprise me!”

– Dana, Portland, Oregon

“Coaching has been valuable because of its accountability. I have found the experience positive because the approach has not been to ‘fix what is wrong’ rather it has focused on how to make a good situation better.”

– Jolynn, Seattle, Washington

“Before coaching I always knew that I wanted more from my life, but I was too afraid to change it.”

– Jodi, Yakima, Washington

“To me coaching is mental fitness. Without it I don’t think I would have realized that I contain my own recipe for success – I somehow always felt that I was missing a key ingredient. My work with Steven has gotten me unstuck!”

– Erica, Eugene, Oregon

“When I contacted Steven I was confused about a significant decision. After the call I knew exactly what I wanted to do because I had gained power over the situation instead it holding power over me. Steven helped me to see the situation in ways that I could have never achieved on my own. His ability to hear truth and articulate its meaning in a way that I could not, is empowering.”

– Wayne, Yakima, Washington

“Steven has a real gift for listening deeply to a person’s unspoken story, then getting to the heart of the matter with helpful, insightful questions. His clarity and support on the journey makes all the difference in being able to take action toward a fuller life.”

– Liz, Portland, Oregon

“Prior to working with Steven I was paralyzed by the fear of the quality of my performance surrounding a new professional position I had taken. With Steve’s determination; and warm and active listening, we broke it down and peeled away the layers of my fears and concerns. We explored me as a whole person, and focused on a more truthful and genuine understanding of what I have to offer, both my job and myself. The most remarkable realization of my work with Steven was to discover that my truth and confidence was very much already within me all along, I just couldn’t see it on my own. In his inherently disarming manner, we broke down the barriers between me and me, over and over and over again.”

– Meris, Portland, Oregon

“I had a short time frame to get up to speed with a new product line at my company. With Steven’s unique teaching style, we focused on product knowledge, presentation and, most importantly, what I personally brought to the process. I was learning my individual style and developing my own personal voice instead of being taught to mimic someone else’s canned presentation. Steven’s method of teaching is very personal, insightful and built around you as an individual in such a way that I gained much more than an understanding of sales and presentation, but an understanding and clarity of my own personal happiness and purpose as well.”

– Bruce, Portland, Oregon

“I sought the help of a life coach because I felt that I did not have my life under control, and I was unhappy with several areas of my life.  I had really high expectations of myself as a mom, wife, daughter, friend, employee, etc., and instead of enjoying life, I kept trying to reach perfection in all areas.  The constant pressure to live up to my own high standards and non-stop attempts to succeed was exhausting and frustrating. I am now in my late 30s, and I finally realized that this is not something I can fix myself.

When I contacted Steven, I only knew that something wasn’t quite right with my life, and that I wasn’t where I wanted to be, or where I thought I would be at this age.  I knew that I didn’t have any major issues, but I wasn’t content and it was bothering me.  I wasn’t sure whether I would be able to communicate well what exactly I need help with; however, that concern dissolved within the first 10 minutes of our initial meeting.

Steven listened to me with genuine interest and very patiently and helped me navigate through my explanation with his to-the-point questions.  I don’t remember ever talking to a person who was not a family member or a close friend with such ease and feeling of comfort and total trust.

Steven didn’t judge me, and he didn’t tell me what to do.  He coached me to answer my own questions and to tailor the tools he gave me to my own needs.  Steven truly has a gift to communicate his passion for helping people achieve their goals through his words and actions.

Thanks to his very positive and human, yet direct approach, I was comfortable opening up during our conversations, which in return allowed Steven to come up with a detailed and efficient plan for me.

I worked with Steven for 3 months, and during that time we covered all areas of my life, even the ones I didn’t think needed attention.  As we progressed, I realized that I was not aware how much all aspects of life intertwine and influence one another.

Steven didn’t let me walk around any issues and he was not afraid to dig deep.  I had homework and we did exercises and Steven gave me many valuable tools to continue being on track even after our sessions ended.

There were moments of frustration and even tears, but at the end of it all, I felt like I have unloaded a ton of heavy rocks that I have carried with me for years.  I have been “on my own” for months now, and I am doing great. I have put the new tools to use quite a bit, and I have not once returned to the same state of mind I was dealing with on a daily basis before I worked with Steven.

What amazed me was a realization, that the circumstances and situations around me haven’t changed – what changed with Steven’s help was my perception of the world around me and the way I choose to react to it.  What a powerful skill to gain!  It has made my life so much better in the sense that I no loner allow situations to control me – I am in control of my reactions and responses.

Working with Steven has been a life-changing experience for me and one of the best investments I have made in my life.  I have recommended him to a couple of my friends, and will continue to do so.”

– Lenka, Portland, Oregon
